Lent is a time to narrow the focus of the Church to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, to turn from our sin and trust in His atoning work. It is a period of time to empty ourselves of lesser things so that we might be filled with the greater things of the gospel. Throughout the history of the Church, followers of Jesus have taken the forty days leading up to Easter to focus their hearts in preparation for celebrating the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This year, many of us in the New City family are journeying together in our faith, as we observe the life-giving practices of Lent.

LENT GUIDE
The season of Lent begins Wednesday, February 22 and continues through April 7. Use this New City Lent Guide free PDF as a resource for engaging with God through the 6 weeks of Lent. The guide explains what Lent is all about, includes Scripture readings and meditations for each week, and also practical suggestions for fasting. City Groups will also be using the Lent guide for their gatherings during Lent. We hope this guide is a tool to engage with God both individually and in community as we look forward to Easter and resurrection hope! Our kids can join in as well with the City Kids Lent Guide
